Shannon Cody
Shannon (RYT 500) began practicing yoga in 2004 and completed her first teacher training in 2009, setting into motion a lifelong journey of exploration and self-discovery. She is committed to helping students cultivate practices of self-inquiry, self-care and expansion via intentional movement, attention to breath, meditation, and mindfulness. She seeks to create a safe space for students to explore their own experiences with curiosity and compassion.
Shannon believes that yoga is not just something we do on the mat, but a living, breathing practice that we take out into the world so that we can better connect to what matters most, and show up wherever we are with greater capacity for love and equanimity. She remains committed to her own personal development through continued study and dedicated practice. Shannon is 500-hour certified and also certified in Yin Yoga through Sarah Powers and the Insight Yoga Institute.
Shannon lives in Owings, MD with her husband, Justin, and has three kids. When not on the mat, you might find her on the trail, reading through her stacks of books, or sipping a matcha latte.
