Finding alignment in yoga is a multilayered process. Most commonly considered from the musculoskeletal perspective, alignment is also found through other body-systems. Whole-body alignment involves the synergistic relationship between all body-mind systems.

Patty Townsend was among the first wave of teacher-trainers in the U.S. Her background includes decades of serious practice and study of Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, and Iyengar yoga. A long-time student of Tantric philosophy and most recently a dedicated student and avid lover of all things BMC. Body-Mind Centering® and Embodied Anatomy™ are methods of inquiry into the nature of body and mind developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen of the School for Body-Mind-Centering®.

An intimate student of Bonnie's for 20 years, Patty draws upon her 40 years of serious practice and teaching to synthesize Bonnie's work into yoga. Her methods are straightforward and clear. Patty calls this process Embodyoga®.
