👋 I am Karen Macklin
Karen Macklin, E-RYT 500, is a senior yoga teacher and trainer, meditation instructor, and professional life coach certified with the International Coach Federation.
Karen teaches yoga with an emphasis on deepening concentration, awareness, and insight, as well as healing the body and mind. Her classes are well-crafted, rhythmic flow practices that offer students an opportunity to enter a space of meditation and inquiry. She is strongly committed to inclusiveness and diversity, and believes that yoga, at its best, is a way of coming home to oneself. Her classes are deeply influenced by her extensive studies in Shadow Yoga, Alignment-Based Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Therapeutics Training, Trauma-Informed Practice, and Vipassana Meditation.
As a professional writer, Karen has contributed articles on yoga & mindfulness to Yoga Journal, Yoga International, FitYoga, Alternative Medicine, Yogagenda, the Bay Guardian, SF Weekly, and Tricycle magazines. She currently writes a column on mindfulness and modern life for 48 Hills called Examined Life.
