Emily Benaron

I began practicing yoga in 1996 and have continued for over 20 years cultivating a deep interest in embodied wellness. I am an E-RYT 500 and Continuing Education Provider with the Yoga Alliance. I am also a Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

I have over 15 years of yoga teaching experience. My unique teaching style blends the amazing tradition of yoga with modern movement science and is deeply influenced by mindfulness and self-compassion practices.

I am proud to have developed yoga therapy programs, teacher training modules, innovative workshops, and retreats while building a thriving private practice in Santa Barbara, California.

I also hold additional certifications as a Licensed Massage Therapist, NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, Physical Focus Trainer, a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, and Roll Model Method® Practitioner.

My services as a certified Wellness Coach help individuals explore and embody what is important to them in their personal growth and wellness. I support their creation of a healthy fulfilling lifestyle that is enriching and intentional.

As a certified Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Facilitator, I offer instruction and support to develop a heart-centered mindfulness practice to support wellbeing.

Each class I teach is a unique blend of yoga, movement, and meditation creating an opportunity to practice deeper awareness of body, mind, and heart. Breath-focused yoga and movement build strength and resilience in the body, increases mental focus and ease, and unwinds the nervous system leading to improved overall wellbeing and optimal health.

My Yoga for Strength class includes interval training with weights and is an energizing, sweaty, and fun way to build strength and new neuropathways for balance, movement, and mobility.

It is my deepest intention to guide students to develop an empowering understanding of the inner workings of their bodies and minds creating a vital connection to inner resources and resilience.

I live in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, with my husband Joey and our rescue animals Nico and Koa Kitty.
