Andrew Pyo

Born in South Korea and raised in Kentucky, Andrew is a NYC-based yoga teacher (E-RYT 200 and RYT 500).

Andrew completed his 200-hour teacher training at YogaWorks and his 300-hour advanced teacher training at Yoga Shanti. He’s also served as an assistant mentor and mentor to several 200-hour teacher trainings and audited an additional 300-hour teacher training at Yoga Shanti.

Open to all levels and integrating 90's hip hop and other lively musical genres, his classes are dynamic and athletic, as well as meditative and restorative, helping students to discover a free and easy breath.

While working on Wall Street, Andrew began a regular asana practice to complement and balance his physically active life outside of the office. At his very first yoga class, he was awestruck with admiration by the grace, flexibility and strength of the fellow yogis in the room! He left the studio feeling physically challenged and refreshed, as well as more limber and centered. Over time and many classes later, Andrew discovered yoga's enormous calming effect, bringing peace and clarity to the mind, body and soul before the start of each work day. Observing one's breath, taking time to reflect and removing distractions helped to quiet the mind and organize his thoughts, especially when juggling competing priorities and interests.

Andrew continues to study with Colleen and Rodney and expresses gratitude to the countless teachers who have shared their wisdom with him over the years. He also thanks his students, who teach him daily.

Prior to teaching yoga, Andrew worked in the financial services for over 15 years, most recently as the COO of CamberView Partners. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics-Mathematics from Columbia University.
