Andrea Catarivas

Andrea is a passionate teacher and avid student of yoga who is motivated by the direct change that practice has brought to her life both physically and mentally. Yoga has proved to be a deep transformative experience and Andrea has experienced outstanding benefits which she loves to share with her students. Originally from Uruguay, Andrea came to the US with a Fulbright Scholarship in 2003 to go to graduate school and worked in the corporate world for several years before making a career change. Growing up a competitive gymnast, her understanding of body mechanics began at a very young age. She obtained her 200-hour teacher training certification from Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago in 2011 and has been teaching since then at multiple studios and health clubs in the Chicago area.  Andrea has been deeply influenced by teachers such as Noah Maze, Sara Strother, Adil Palkivala, Kino MacGregor, Annie Carpenter, and Gabriel Halpern among others.  Apart from Yoga, Andrea is passionate about nutrition, detox programs, and following a healthy life style. When not on the mat, she loves to be in nature, hiking, biking or practicing outdoors' activities. Andrea’s classes are focused around dynamic, challenging and progressive sequencing with a focus on breath and alignment. Come ready to challenge yourself and unveil your potential.
