Union Interruption of Service on 8/24/22

On Tuesday, August 23rd, Salesforce, one of Union's upstream providers, had a failure with DNS causing many sites on the Internet to become unresponsive, including Union, for some users between approximately 7:15pm EST - 8:10pm EST. Union engineers were able to implement a workaround and bring the site back online earlier than the full length of the Salesforce outage.

DNS is essentially the Internet's phone book–it allows browsers to translate 'www.union.fit' to an address they can connect to. While many users had issues connecting, no data was lost.

We take these issues extremely seriously and are working to prevent in the future.
