Demi Michalopoulos
Dimokratia is a Chicago native and grew up in a big Greek family on the southwest side. Demi has completed a 500 Hour Yoga Teacher certification, as well as a 50 Hour Yoga Burn certification. She currently teaches Barre, Hot Yoga, Kids Yoga with Buddha Belly, Vinyasa, Burn style classes, and she loves to continue learning different yoga formats and styles. Other than teaching yoga, Demi works as a professional singer with several bands around Chicago, including her own acoustic trio For the People. She uses her musical background to create fun and soulful playlists, as well as sing and chant in her yoga classes. Demi is also the Artistic Director with Imagination Theater, an educational theater company that teaches students of all ages about social issues like empathy, respect, bullying, and mental health awareness. Demi is an avid yoga practitioner and continues to practice her yoga on and off of her mat.
