Yoga has been part of my life since 1985 when at the age of 23 I found a practice that I would explore and modify for years to come as I worked through my own stuff. I have found that with a self-forgiving approa...
We are drawn to external values and measurements. "Yoga alignment" has been misinterpreted to mean, getting one body part in line with another, or "getting the shape right." It's dangerous and elusive. Inner alignment can be found in all that we do, which makes all that we do, yoga. in Avita Yoga, we always have the prerogative to change up the shape and reduce pressure so that we come into alignment with the shape and the feedback it brings. Live sometimes affords us the ability to make changes, and whether it does or does not, we always have the ability to change our attitude and ultimately our perception of the thing that brings us out of alignment. This is our yoga. We gently seek not to change the world, but to change our thoughts about it. The class opens with sandbag work. Remain vigilant and be sure you are in alignment with the shape and feedback.

This is where the magic happens. Green classes make up the majority of the Avita practice because this is where the healing happens. Green classes take a reductionist approach to yoga so that neither the body nor the mind is overwhelmed. In fact, the soothing pressure induces the healing process. You will come to know it as a healing sensation. With a little time and practice, you may be drawn to the Avita Orange classes.

Avita Yoga® is an approach that specializes in resolving injuries, chronic pain, stiffness, and hyper flexibility. It eases the body’s aging process by stimulating the body's natural, healing physiology. Avita Yoga addresses our differences--body type, age, life history, injury, etc.

Avita Yoga® brings areas of conflict and rigidity to light where they can be resolved. It is a sustainable practice that generates long-term results with more freedom in the body and more peace in mind. If you've ever thought that you are too stiff for yoga, then Avita is for you. The goal is simple: to remain healthy, mobile, and happy as long as possible. Avita Yoga is a results-driven practice. Best when practiced three times per week, it is a systematic approach that pays close attention to each individual body. It works for students of all ages, abilities, and degrees of mobility. Avita is the yoga for a lifetime®.
