Avita Yoga® Orange: Establishing A Healing Rhythm

Yoga has been part of my life since 1985 when at the age of 23 I found a practice that I would explore and modify for years to come as I worked through my own stuff. I have found that with a self-forgiving approa...
Above all, yoga must move us within. The "move" is a gently healing rhythm--a state of mind that moves away from distractions, away from thoughts of separation, and toward an inner sense of wholeness and peace. This is our highest calling, and we give the body and the higher purpose of getting us "there." We establish this gentle healing rhythm in the opening shapes of every class and then maintain it as we go through the class. The healing rhythm is the crux of the class--the inner guide to which we align the shapes and not the other way around where we "align" with some outer ambition or agenda. The class takes a deep dive into the hips through passive and active shapes, both on the floor and standing. Go slow and let yourself be moved. Namaste.

As mobility and health improve, confidence increases, and the student is naturally ready for more time, pressure, and complexity in the shapes and movements. Avita Orange classes allow the advancing student to experience these additional elements safely. Remember to reduce pressure and time when you are in doubt. It's wise to practice Avita Green two to three times per week and add an Avita Orange class once per week. Please note, Avita Yoga Red classes are available only as replays for now.

Avita Yoga® is an approach that specializes in resolving injuries, chronic pain, stiffness, and hyper flexibility. It eases the body’s aging process by stimulating the body's natural, healing physiology. Avita Yoga addresses our differences--body type, age, life history, injury, etc. Too often, we unwittingly move around our problems, which tends to make them worse over time.

Avita Yoga® is a sustainable practice that generates long-term results with more freedom in the body and more peace of mind. If you've ever thought that you are too stiff for yoga, then Avita is for you. The goal is simple: to remain healthy, mobile, and happy as long as possible. As such, Avita Yoga is a no-frills, results-driven practice. When practiced three times per week, it is a systematic approach that pays close attention to each student. It works for students of all ages, abilities, and degrees of mobility. Avita is the yoga for a lifetime™.
