How To Use Frequency In A Campaign

2m
There are certain campaigns that you'll want to have repeated for a customer over time. A perfect example of this is for students who purchase a drop-in. To do this, you'll update the Frequency when setting up the Trigger in your Customer.io Campaign.

This video will walk you through the two types of frequency options:

  • Every re-match
Which will re-start a campaign when a person stops matching the trigger conditions in order to re-match. (Often used with the automated segments that include the phrase "active passholders of" or "active subscribers of".)

  • At fixed intervals
Which will re-start a campaign for people who still match the trigger and filter conditions. (This could include segments "Purchased a 10-class pack." Anyone who has ever purchased a 10-class pack won't be leaving that segment because they will have always purchased at least 1 10-class pack.)

A best practice for using frequencies is to keep the day limit at 90-120 days. This is enough time to reach your customers again but also doesn't spam their inbox and push them to unsubscribe from your mailing list.
