Easter & Eostre: The Resurrection of Light and Balance

Aired -

1h 9m
Easter and the ancient festival of Eostre both celebrate the return of light, life, and renewal—a sacred time when the darkness of winter gives way to the fertility of spring. While Easter in the Christian tradition honors resurrection, transformation, and hope, the festival of Eostre, named after the Germanic goddess of dawn and spring, marks the awakening of the land, the return of warmth, and the balance of light and dark.

This season reminds us that resurrection is not an instant transformation but a gentle, cyclical unfolding. Just as nature does not rush to bloom, balance is not something we achieve once and for all but something we continuously cultivate. Life and death, light and shadow, endings and beginnings—each exists as part of the great harmony of existence.

Through yoga and ritual, we attune to this sacred rhythm, remembering that resurrection is not only a story of the past but a living, breathing process within us all.
