Energizing Practice: Finding the flow, going within, connecting to Spirit in love
This stimulating 60-minute practice designed to increase energy and focus opens with a meditation related to exploring what health, wellness, and self-care mean to you, inviting you to reflect on how you are tending to your body, mind, and Spirit during this complex time in our history. From there, I will guide you through a prayer of intention to align with Source and invoke the sacred into our practice. The sequence includes Half Sun Salutes (Ardha Surya Namaskar), Full Sun Salutes (Surya Namaskar), with variations for all levels of experience. I will then instruct a low lunge series that includes a twist (Parivrtta Sanchalasana), Dolphin Pose variation (Ardha Pincha Mayurasana), Standing Twists variation (Parivrtta Hasta Padangusthasana), Side Stretch, Wide-Legged Standing Folding Forward Fold with a Twist (Parivrtta Prasarita Padottanasana), and Prayer Twist (Parivrtta Parsvokonasana). These poses both activate and regulate the central nervous system and spinal cord and help to gently massage the internal organs for purification and release. The class concludes with Camel Pose (Ustrasana), Head to Knee pose (Janu Sirsasana), and a Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana), followed by meditation, Corpse Pose (Savasana), and a closing gratitude prayer.
