Relax, Reset and Renew: Restorative Yoga explanation and a deeply relaxing practice using Rilke's Book of Hours to set the tone for sacred rest
This one-hour restorative experience is designed for deep relaxation, quiet self-reflection, and blissful meditation enabling your nervous system to calm, your mind to quiet, and your heart to open in Grace. Class begins with an explanation of restorative yoga, what props are needed, how to work with essential oil, and incorporate healing crystals into your experience. The sequence includes a supported chest opener using blocks, a Supine Twisting Pose (Supta Matsyendrasana variation) using folded blankets, neck release and self-massage, Legs Up The Wall Pose (Viparita Karani), using a bolster, and a supported Corpse Pose (Savasana) using blankets or a bolster for optimal rest. While you are in the poses, I will lead you through guided relaxation and read a poem from Rilke's Book of Hours at the beginning of each restorative pose for quiet contemplation. The class will end with a silent meditation and prayer.
