Meredith Jacobs
As a larger bodied person, Meredith (she/her) has dabbled with yoga in many different forms over the last 20+ years but never felt she was allowed/welcome to practice due to her body. A friend suggested trying a kundalini yoga class and she finally discovered that it helped to open her body up for increased physical movement and flexibility, as well as quieting the mind. “Kundalini also allows students to close their eyes once the pose has been introduced to allow the person to go deeper into their practice taking away the self diminishing concerns regarding if they are doing the pose like their neighbor or up to style with their yoga mat and clothes. The practice is all about the students' inner work.”
Meredith is rooted in her 200 hr Kundalini training using it to help her provide accessible classes to larger and different able bodies. Her focus is to welcome anyone who has never felt welcome in yoga. She firmly believes that folks are incharge of their practice and can adapt movement and breath for themselves. She will hold space and give guidance for you in a brave space.
Come as you are, you can adapt the poses for your body regardless of body, identification, and ability. You are worthy of yoga.
