Kim Raquet (she/her)
Kim (she/her) is a white, cisgender, able bodied yoga teacher. Kim started yoga in a self-taught capacity in the 2010’s and practiced off and on for many years as a stress relieving technique. In 2021, Kim began practicing consistently with the assistance from YouTube videos, specifically Adriene Mishler and her 30 day challenges. From then, Kim was hooked and strived to have a daily yoga routine which was kept for more than 700 consecutive days.
Kim works for the Howard Center, a human services non-profit and is able to receive a free membership to Sangha Studios with their partnership. With the encouragement from a fellow employee and fellow yoga teacher, Kim began attending in person classes with Sangha Studio in 2022. She took a variety of classes and was up to 2-4 classes per week while also doing her own self-study with various books revolving around yoga practices. In 2023, Kim decided to take the leap and do her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Sangha Studio.
Kim is excited to start her teacher journey and looking forward to sharing Yoga with all who are open to it. Kim would love to continue to grow her own personal practice and to learn more about accessible teaching and a variety of types yoga practices such as Yin. Working in the human services field, specifically with people with Developmental Disabilities and Autism, Kim would love to expand her teaching to include those in “other” bodies that may not otherwise think they can practice yoga. It is a passion of Kim’s to share the practice of yoga, especially for those who think they are unable to do it. It is important to spread the word that yoga is for EVERY body! In Kim’s classes she hopes you will feel invited and welcome to practice as you are. It is a pressure free zone and hopefully one that will put you at ease to dive deeper into your own practice. Kim focuses on relatively slower flows, but likes to add in some creative sequences, all while providing options along the way so that anyone and everyone can participate. Kim also provides space to breathe and find time to ground oneself.
Kim lives in Vergennes, Vermont with her husband Christian and their rescue pup Rosie. When she’s not working or doing yoga, she loves to get out on the trails to hike. She’s an avid photographer, reader, and tattoo collector as well.
