Emily Fujioka (she/her)

Emily (she/her) began practicing yoga regularly as a student in NYC at a local gym.  While she entered into these classes with the goal of "getting fit", what she discovered was a moving meditation---a way to meet her body, heart, and mind with more kindness and compassion.

Emily's goal is to bring this same kindness and compassion into her classes.  In each class one can expect to focus mindfully on moving through the asanas, connecting the movements with the breath. She is a strong believer in using the breath as an anchor, grounding us in the present. Emily follows the notion that yoga should be accessible to all, therefore her classes offer a variety of modifications and adaptations for those practicing.  Additionally, her classes are trauma informed.

Emily received her yoga teaching certificate in NYC from Sonic Yoga in 2011. Since then she has continued her training to include: Yin, LoveYourBrain Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Workplace Mindfulness Facilitation, and Children's Yoga.  She is an adjunct professor at Champlain College and the mother of two young glorious people.
