Christina (Chris) Koliander

Christina (Chris) Koliander (she/her) began her yoga journey with Rodney Yee VHS tapes in the late 1990s (remember those?!), discovering an appreciation for the peacefulness, mindfulness, and healing qualities of yoga. When she began taking in-person classes in the early 2000s, she knew she wanted to teach, but it took her almost 25 years to get there. Chris was introduced to Sangha Studio of Burlington in the fall of 2022, and after seeing the studio’s open approach and inclusivity she knew she picked the right place to further her yoga education. She graduated from Sangha with her 200-hour certificate in June 2023 and currently teaches in both Bristol and Monkton.

Students will find Chris’s yoga classes open and welcoming to all bodies, abilities, and ages. Guiding movement with stillness and rest, emphasizing on pausing in the present moment and noticing your body, Chris always gives options and encourages the use of props. She provides a warm and safe space for her students to practice inner reflection and movement. Her hope is for students to connect with their bodies, hearts, spirits, and to one another with kindness and compassion.

Chris lives in Monkton, and off the mat is a professional editor and writer. In her spare time, you’ll find her writing, reading, walking, cooking, hiking, or traveling Vermont’s back roads with her boyfriend, Dave, as members of The 251 Club.
