Arik Cardenas (name/he/she/they)

In 2018 Arik started a consistent asana practice after suffering a shoulder injury. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2019 that Arik started to delve deeper into the whole teachings yoga. In the summer of 2019 Arik completed their 200hr certification through Sangha and is on track to finish the 200hr Ayurveda training (Nov 2019) through The Mahatma School of Ayurveda. Arik’s classes focus on movement, breath awareness, meditation, being in sync with nature, philosophy and how it all translates off the mat.

Fun fact: Arik hurt their shoulder training to become an MMA fighter. Arik thought this was a good time to become more flexible in their lower body so they could more effectively knock someone out with a head kick. Not a very yogic start for Arik. Arik now believes the most effective “warrior” is the one that saves and protects the most lives, the peaceful warrior - not the one that can do the most damage.
