Kula Flow: Trik and Parivrtta Trik

(Suggested props: 1 block and 1 strap. If you have 2 blocks and some blankets or towels or a bolster grab them as I give a supported restorative option at the end, but you can easily do this class with a block and a strap).

We start at the wall to establish our legs and our blackbody. You will do two down dogs at the wall and an early handstand if you want it! Then right into sun salutations A and B. We explore how triangle and cobra inform parivrtta trikonasana. Class ends with a supported no weight on the head headstand variation and a supported backbend (which could also be legs up the wall or an active headstand and a supported bridge or fish with less props or an active wheel).

(Int/Adv) Kula Flow is vinyasa (or flow) style yoga with an emphasis on creativity and alignment. Classes are inventive and thoughtful sequences of sun salutations, standing & seated postures, back bending, and inversions—guided by a steady breath to tone and calm the mind. Most teachers also use bandha work to open and strengthen the inner body.
