This unique class combines the benefits of dynamic, muscular Vinyasa flow with the slow, potent unfolding power of Yin. Some teachers will begin with Yin and gradually build into Vinyasa; others will start with Vinyasa, then unwind into the embrace of Yin.
 
Yin promotes a sense of slow, deep unwinding and release by working gently into the edge of postures through long holds (between one and ten minutes). By emphasizing actions of ligaments, bones, and joints rather than muscles, these classes encourage an entirely different sort of openness from more active and movement-oriented practices.
