Japa Meditation: Om Namah Shivaya

Aired -

21m
This meditation focuses on Japa (derived from the Sanskrit root, jap, meaning "to repeat quietly and internally”). Mala beads are encouraged but not required. The mantra "Om Namah Shivaya" is repeated 108 times to evoke the Hindu god Shiva — a famous mantra used to aid in self-realization.

Each meditation ends with a five minute free writing, so a journal or something to write with is encouraged.

Beginner friendly. All levels.
15 mins + 5 mins of free writing
Props: optional mala + cushion or blanket
