After moving to Tribeca eighteen years ago, I stumbled upon a premie Kula on the way to the train. I went, was hands down hooked by the first hip opener, and the rest is history. I started teaching at Kula in 200...
This module is an exercise in creative, intelligent and relevant sequencing that revolves around necessary actions in the body as well as what is happening anatomically. We will start by deconstructing a few peak poses, and through discussion reveal what is needed in order to help students gain access to the pose with relative ease. We will then work together as a group to choose what other posture belong in our peak's family, and figure out how to place them within the sequence of a class. Counterpostural work will also be addressed. The last pose will be deconstructed as a group and then taught by Kula Yoga co-director Nikki Vilella in an hour long Kula Flow class which will demonstrate the work we have done in action.
