Jeff is the founder of Avita Yoga. Yoga as an awakening path is his life's work and dharma. Passion and purpose were set in 1985 at the age of 23 when he sincerely asked: What does it mean "to join?" If yoga join...
There are six short, strong rotator muscles in the hip. They are the ones that can restrict and lead to Sciatic Pain. This is an excellent class for elevating tension on tension on the "deep six" and, more importantly, accessing the hip and low back restrictions that cause them to tighten! Muscles are rarely the cause of their tightness. We use the wall initially to abduct the legs wide, and then some demand bringing them off the wall. Stay on the wall if it's too strong on your legs. :)

Level 1 Green classes make up most of the Avita practice. It's where most need to start to get the best results. Neither the body nor the mind is overwhelmed, allowing the soothing pressure to induce the body's natural healing process. You will come to know it as a helpful, healing sensation. You may be drawn to the Avita Orange classes with a bit of time and practice.

Avita Yoga® brings areas of conflict and rigidity to light where it is resolved. It is a sustainable practice that generates long-term results with more freedom in the body and more peace of mind. If you've ever thought that you are too stiff for yoga, then Avita is for you. The goal is simple: to remain healthy, mobile, and happy as long as possible. Avita Yoga is a results-driven practice, ideally three to four times per week. It works for students of all ages, abilities, and degrees of mobility. Some practice daily, but start slow and pace yourself. Avita is the yoga for a lifetime®.
