The Ancient practice of Devatā Yoga uses the symbolism of the Vedic Gods and Goddesses as a means of helping practitioners realize and actualize what the tradition calls our "innate Divine potential."
In this course, for each deity, there is a Bṛṁhaṇa (ideal for energizing) and a Laṅghana (ideal for relaxation) class, as well as a Samāna (balance) class with a deep meditation.
Once you familiarize yourself with the deities, you might choose one to work with for a while.
The name Viṣṇu means “all pervasive, one who enters everywhere, is everything, and is inside of everything.”
It derives from the root viṣ, meaning “to be active, act, work, do, or perform.”
The earliest references to Viṣṇu are found in the Ṛg Veda — the oldest of the Veda-s. In Ṛg Veda, Viṣṇu is identified as the personification of light in its three-fold manifestations as
fire, lightning, and the sun.
