The Female Pelvic Floor: Anatomy, Awareness, Strength and Release

This workshop will include a basic anatomical introduction to the female pelvic floor as it relates to reproduction, healing, strength and movement. 

After the anatomy lesson, this class will be mostly practice- you will learn how to wisely engage, and release, your pelvic floor based on the needs of the posture or movement. We will work both strength and surrender, as they are important in equal measure. We will discuss some of the common ways the pelvic floor gets cut off from our awareness, resulting in too much or not enough engagement, and how to rebuild those connections. When full of awareness, the pelvic floor offers stability to the sacrum, enhanced breathing and very functional strength. 

*note, this class is for people with female anatomy only 

If you are taking it online, you will need a firm blanket that can be rolled up, a bolster or pillows to act like one, a block and a strap. The replay will be sent out to all participants a few hours after the class finishes if you can't come in real time or if you want to revisit.
