Sunday Yin Chill

-

at YOGA SOUP (28 PARKER WAY SANTA BARBARA, California 93101)

Yin yoga is a practice that focuses on accessing your connective tissue, particularly the fascia. This form of yoga is a deep dive into stillness, presence, and accessing energy that may be stuck or passed over in a stronger movement based yoga. Poses are held for 3, 5 & 7 minutes working with the energy meridians in the body, cultivating mindful stretching and lengthening of the connective tissue. This practice increases strength and flexibility, improves joint mobility, improves posture and body awareness, increases blood flow and circulation, and can release held trauma in the body.

In this earth based class (seated/laying down on mat) the focus also includes stillness as mindful meditation, sound healing music and tuning forks, slowing down with intentional movement between the poses, relaxing breath practices, and guided meditation, plus self healing support- mudras, acupressure points and chakra awareness development. The wind down to the weekend that thoughtfully brings deep relaxation, consciousness and self compassion to bridge into the coming week. Yin is a beautiful alternative to discover going inward to quiet the mind, balance and reduce stress, and just get your deep calm on!
