Advanced Asana Practice with Max Kopeikin

All great yoga teaching blossoms out of the lived and embodied experience of the teacher's own practice of yoga. Additionally, the ability to teach and demonstrate a wide range of postures requires the teacher to keep up a regular personal practice. In this training, you will refine your home practice and gain the tools to stay committed to your personal exploration of the yoga practice. Together, we will review the alignment principles from the beginner poses and see how the same foundational actions and principles can help us approach new and more complex poses. You will learn how to skillfully use self-inquiry as a tool in your asana practice, and utilize personal modifications and self-adjustments that are appropriate for your physical and emotional state. You'll also learn a more sophisticated use of yoga props. You'll graduate from this module with three home practices that you've designed for yourself: a vigorous practice, a balanced practice, and a restful one.

The course includes discussion, theory, and asana practice.  Homework will consist of reading, as well as dedicated home practice and reflection around that practice.  The entire course will be taught in a hybrid style (you can take it in-person or online).
