The IT Band is arguably the most famous fascia on your body. It is wrongly maligned as being the cause of pain for many, but it’s actually just a connective tissue messenger conducting force transfers from several powerful muscles.  In the general public, it suffers from regular “attacks” from hard foam rollers – no wonder it’s so misunderstood. This class teaches safe techniques to help your whole hip/femur complex reframe an embodied understanding of your IT Band.

Props used in this class: YTU Therapy Balls in Tote, Therapy Ball Plus in Tote, APLHA Twinset

After doing the IT Band-Aid: To Roll or Not to Roll class, we recommend you also do the following class from the Replay Library:

Single leg competency is one of the benefits of having a resilient IT Band. Let this class challenge the strength and weaknesses on each of your legs/hips.

In the next phase of MOVE, BREATHE, ROLL, Jill focuses on common myths and misperceptions of practice that still persist in yoga and movement classrooms today. Each class tackles a myth that unrolls like a sticky mat when you filter it through anatomy, kinesiology and physiology. Join Jill on this fun myth-busting journey that also translates into other popular movement forms including pilates, CrossFit and Instagram Inspo. Each class will attempt to unpack a myth from a historical/contextual lens and take you through Tune Up Fitness movement practices that help your body to be a lab of curiosity, discovery and mirth.
