A Mother’s Story: Exploring the Darker Side of Motherhood
-
at Three Queens Yoga (410 Monroe Street Philadelphia, PA 19147)
This event has ended.
Join Claire Rodgers, a Philadelphia-based Clinical Psychologist and specialist in maternal mental health, as she uses mythological and fairy tale archetypes to acknowledge, explore and embrace the darker, more challenging truths about identity and motherhood.
In this two-hour workshop informed by Jungian analyst Lisa Marchiano’s text Motherhood: Facing and Finding Ourselves, workshop attendees will learn about the journeys of fictional characters whose struggles mirror real-world, universal maternal experiences. Stories and discussions will be interspersed with in-workshop individual journaling prompts to enhance a self-reflective experience.
Members may choose to share part of their journal responses with the group, or keep them entirely for themselves.
Please bring something to write on, and something to write with!
