This class offers individuals a one hour Yin practice followed by a traditional Yoga Nidra practice. The ultimate opportunity to calm the mind and body!
Yin Yoga is a quiet, introspective practice where students hold postures for 3-5 minutes with and without the use of props to gradually target connective tissues such as the joints, ligaments and fascia of the body. A regular Yin practice can encourage greater mental focus, lower stress levels, increased joint mobility, fascial release, greater stamina, and improved circulation.
Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep or sleep with awareness, is the bridge between the physical realm and a journey beyond. In this class, the restorative poses prepare our body for rest. Yoga Nidra is a guided practice to relax the body part by part, as it is mapped in our brains. This allows all traces of the day to fade away, welcoming stillness to align with deep inner and outer peace. Sleep with awareness rewires our inner connections allowing for optimal healing and restful rejuvenation. Yoga Nidra may also include custom guided visualizations and sound healing tools as time allows.

About Emily:
Emily Fujioka (she/her) loves this way of practicing — a slow opening of the body and then further relaxing the parasympathetic nervous system with a guided Nidra practice. Emily's goal is always to invite others to listen to their bodies and she believes slowing down is often the first step in this process.
