Our bodies have an innate ability to relax, given the right circumstances. This class weaves together 2 deeply relaxing styles of yoga - Restorative + Yoga Nidra.

In restorative yoga, we practice poses supported by props in order to find greater comfort as we hold them for an extended period of time (5-20min) in order to tip the balance from “fight or flight” mode into relaxation. A regular restorative practice can foster a more balanced nervous system, less fatigue and stress, promote optimal immune function, and improve digestion.

Restorative Yoga is ideal for students seeking to use mindful, slow, and meditative techniques to reduce stress and alleviate its impact on the body.

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep or sleep with awareness, is the bridge between the physical realm and a journey beyond. In this class, the restorative poses prepare our body for rest. Yoga Nidra is a guided practice to relax the body part by part, as it is mapped in our brains. This allows all traces of the day to fade away, welcoming stillness to align with deep inner and outer peace. Sleep with awareness rewires our inner connections allowing for optimal healing and restful rejuvenation. Classes may also include custom guided visualizations and sound healing tools as time allows.
