The principles of sthira and suhka, often translated as steadiness and ease, represent the delicate balance between effort and surrender, strength and flexibility, tension and relaxation.
Through a mix of yin and yang practices, we’ll delve into this ancient wisdom in an embodied and empowered way.
Throughout this course, we’ll explore :
- Yoga Asana Practices: We will explore a variety of postures, breaking them down to understand how to find the perfect blend of sthira and suhka within each pose. Learn about anatomical foundations, as well as alignment principles that will help to embody these concepts. You'll learn to build strength, stability, and flexibility while also cultivating a sense of groundedness and contentment in your practice.
- Meditation and Pranayama: Discover the meditative aspects of yoga as we delve into mindfulness and breath awareness techniques to learn how to cultivate a sense of inner peace and tranquility, even in the midst of challenging situations.

Philosophical Wisdom: Dive deep into the philosophical underpinnings of yoga, exploring ancient texts and teachings that illuminate the concepts of sthira and suhka. You will gain insights into how these principles can guide your life beyond the yoga mat and act as a bridge between your inner and outer worlds.
- Yoga Nidra and Relaxation Techniques: Experience deep relaxation through guided Yoga Nidra sessions and other relaxation techniques. Cultivate the ability to release tension and find profound ease in your body and mind.
- Practical Applications: Take what you've learned on the mat into your daily life. Explore how the principles of Sthira and Sukha can help you navigate challenges, reduce stress, and foster a sense of balance in your everyday activities.

- Weekly Yin class, live: Mondays, 8p
- Weekly Vinyasa class, live: Thursdays, 12p
- Lecture to set the intention and theme of the course (pre-recorded)
- 30 minute Pranayama & Meditation session
- Unwind session: Yoga Nidra / Guided Relaxation
- Community “chit chat” towards the end of the course to process and reflect
- together
