A cooling, patient, and deeply intense practice, Yin is a perfect complement to dynamic and muscular styles popular in America today. Yin stimulates and targets connective tissues by working gently into the edge of postures through long holds (between one and ten minutes). By emphasizing actions of ligaments, bones, and joints rather than muscles, these classes encourage an entirely different sort of openness from more active and movement-oriented practices. Suitable for all levels, Yin promotes a sense of slow, deep unwinding and release.
