Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra
Winter is a time when the earth seems to be quiet + still as the trees have lost their leaves, the grass has stopped growing and the flowers are no longer in bloom. However the vibrancy of life persists within the earth, it is simply pausing for a time of restoration and quiet repose. In this Yoga Nidra I will use guided relaxation cues to help you pause, just as the earth does, to honor the presence of peace and stillness within you all while nurturing and restoring the body, mind + senses.
During this practice, you will get a chance to completely relax physically and pause the sometimes racing thoughts of your mind in order to enjoy a state of alert awareness between sleeping and waking. This practice will begin with simple stretches, movement and breathing. Then we will surrender into Yoga Nidra which is experienced lying in Savasana. All parts of this practice are completely guided and no yoga experience is required.
This Yoga Nidra will be extra cozy and snuggly so I encourage you to bring a favorite hoodie, fuzzy socks, a blanket or 2, (big enough to cover you while lying down), a small pillow for support under the knees, and of course your yoga mat so that you can be as comfortable as possible. I look forward to sharing this practice of Yoga Nidra with you. Namaste.
