-
at Detroit Yoga Lab (69 W. Forest Detroit, MI 48202)
This event has ended.
Spring is a time of rebirth and growth in which nature rouses from its slumber and the landscape is once again filled with the brilliance of life. Within us also lies a spectacular brilliance but sometimes it is masked by feeling tired, rundown and stressed. Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice that uses guided relaxation cues to create a space in which these stressors can diminish and we can notice the beauty of our own inner landscape, to honor the presence of peace and stillness within all while restoring the body, mind and senses.
This practice will begin with simple stretches, movement and breathing before we ease into Yoga Nidra which will be experienced resting in Savasana. During this Yoga Nidra, the body will be guided to completely relax and the chattering thoughts of the mind to pause in order to enjoy a state of alert awareness. At the end of a Yoga Nidra practice, participants have reported significantly reduced stress levels and an overall feeling of peace and calm.
No yoga experience is required and all you’ll need is your mat, your comfiest yoga attire as well as blankets, pillows, an eye cover, and cozy socks to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Looking forward to sharing this practice with you.
