Teaching a yoga class and writing your own flow is like a songwriter writing their own song. What kind of music will you share with the world? As a yoga teacher, your ability to use your unique gifts and expression can help determine what kind of ‘composition’ you will write and what kind of class your students will experience. What is it that you alone can uniquely contribute to the field of yoga?

Taught by songwriter and yoga teacher Hannah Lou Woods, this 2 hr workshop will combine music, meditation, and movement to help you develop:

A) a deeper connection to your own unique voice and expression, both as a yoga teacher, and person; and...
B) a deeper awareness of how music and yoga are related, how to let go and flow, to join in the rhythm and song of your own yoga practice, and your own life.

Bio:

Hannah Lou Woods (aka Hannah Christianson) is a songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist who shares her heart and soul in every note she plays and every word she sings. Originally hailing from a small town in Minnesota, Hannah graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a dual degree in both Music Therapy and Songwriting. Her music reflects her own personal journey of healing, self-discovery, and transformation. Hannah accompanies herself on instruments such as piano, guitar, and ukulele while weaving intricate melodies with her unique voice; “a tenderness in each whisping breath that dances elegantly over the delicate touch of each piano key. Her voice floats and dips in a calming and ethereal sort of way. It seems effortless, but its beauty is undeniable” (Red Line Roots). The result is heart-felt, honest, folksy-bluesy-pop complimented by the lyrical depth of personal experiences. She’s received numerous awards for her songs, including being the winner of the Great American Song Contest (Pop Category), a finalist in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest, and an Honorable Mention at the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Showcase. Her electro-pop group We Saw Lions has gathered over 125k streams on Spotify, and is currently releasing an EP via Jumpsuit Records.
