What is Sūkṣma śārira, or the subtle body? Like the word yoga, the subtle body has several related but distinct meanings.

This weekend training is a deep dive into the mystical and esoteric anatomy of yoga itself. Yoga, from the beginning, has always been a way to conduct oneself while pursuing the way to achieve states of bliss, samadhi and realization. To separate yoga from the subtle body is to lose the opportunity and understanding of the deeper intention of yoga, as well as the ability to experience yoga fully.

This course re-yokes the practice and the energy of the invisible forces activated for us to understand as we study and explore all types of energetic, mystical, metaphysical structures, vortices and anatomy. These are the pathways not visible to the physical eyes yet potent factors in the practice of yoga as well as the experience of being human. From the Vedic three body philosophy to the five Vayus and more, these systems will be presented as interrelated and cohesive rather than isolated systems. The weekend will include physical practice, pranayama and meditation to embody understanding.

Whether you are a teacher or a student or both, you will learn the anatomy of energy, allowing you to deepen and demystify the practice for yourself and others.

Curriculum will include:
  • History & source of the Subtle Body Anatomy understanding
  • The 5 Vayus
  • Prana and how it travels through the body
  • Nadis, Channels, Meridians
  • Marma
  • The 5 Koshas and the 10 Light Bodies

  • A passion for yoga
  • A desire to deepen your own practice
  • 200 hour ytt certification
