Clearing The Way looks at why the study of ethics, compassion, codependency and social justice is critical to anyone in a helping profession. Right relationship is the centerpiece of ethics.  Yoga philosophy points to the most important relationship as the one we have with ourselves . While compassion is the heart of sustainable service, there is a very fine line between authentic compassion and codependency.  When service, activism or teaching comes from codependence the impact of our work can quickly become unskillful and even damaging - despite a good intention.

Using wisdom from the Yoga Sutras, The Upanishads and more, Clearing The Way also examines the deep interconnection between personal/individual wellness and collective healing.  Reminding us that our work is beyond personal liberation, it is collective liberation.  Collective liberation recognizes that our struggles are intimately connected and that true freedom is only possible in a society that is equal, just, resourced and peace-filled for all.
