5. The Weight of the World (on your shoulders)
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body. It's officially a ball-and-socket joint, but it would be more accurate to call it a ball-on-a-plate joint. The trade off for its incredible mobility is a relative lack of stability. In this session we'll talk all about the shoulder joint where the humerus meets the glenoid fossa of the scapula, and we'll investigate how it works as a team with the scapulothoracic joint. We'll take it a step further and look at how optimal shoulder function depends on what's happening in the thoracic spine. Then, we'll use our yoga practice to explore and support our shoulders.
